Biography:

Born 1936   Evergreen, East Flanders, Belgium
1965 - 1974   Resided in South Africa
Since 1975   Visits South Africa, regularly for several months a year, working and exhibiting in this country

A painter, graphic artist and sculptor. Works in oil, acrylic, watercolour, gouache, ink and wah, charcoal; various graphic media and in bronze, stone, ciment fondu and wood. Began sculpting in 1965 at the Michaelis School of Fine Art, University of Cape town, under Prof. Lippy Lipschitz.

Studies:

1961 - 1962   Studied still-life painting, Koninklijke Academic Ghent, Belgium
1963 - 1964   Studied figure painting, Kononklijke Academic voor Schone Kunsten en die Instituten, Antwerp, Belgium;
1965 - 1967   Studied sculpture at the Michaelis School of Fine, Art, University of Cape Town, on a bursary from the Belgian/South African Cultural Accord
